History and development of Sinclair Pharma
Early history
Headquartered in Godalming, Surrey, Sinclair Pharmaceuticals
Limited was founded in 1971 by Andrew Sinclair to focus on the sale
and marketing of generic and branded pharmaceutical products in
the UK.
The company operated in this way until August 2000
when Sinclair Pharmaceuticals Limited was acquired by a management
team led by Dr. Michael Flynn and Jerry Randall.
Sinclair development
From August 2000, Sinclair acquired
companies and products, and conducted some development work to produce
new products or line extensions. The company expanded its portfolio
and in September 2003, most of the original UK Sinclair products
(including the aspirin brand Caprin) were divested in order to focus
on the core new products.
As the company has grown, and since flotation on AIM
in December 2003, the corporate strategy has evolved further. Sinclair has spent recent years developing its direct on-market presence in the key EU territories, and now has sales and marketing operations in the UK, France, Italy, Spain and Portugal.
