Skin
colour: why and how?
Melanocytes,
which synthesize melanin, are responsible for our skin colour. While
the number of these melanocytes is the same for everyone, the nature
and size of the pigment grains differ. This is what causes differences
in skin colour. For example, pigment grains are larger and denser
in black skin.
Darker
skin can appear uneven, a phenomenon usually caused by the presence
of melanin in the dermis and epidermis. When this skin is wounded
or irritated, melanin is produced randomly, causing spots or scars
that are more or less visible and unsightly.
If
aggressive, detergent cleansing products and chlorinated hard water
are used in skin care, these can irritate the skin, damage the skin
barrier and cause dark spots to appear. This is called
dyschromia.
MELA'AURA
is the first dermo-cosmetic
skincare range
designed
and manufactured by a pharmaceutical laboratory, specifically for
people with darker skin. It gives dermatologists an adapted response
to factors such as dryness and dyschromia affecting the skin and
hair. It has been available to dermatologists in France since
1998.
In
line with its vocation as a pharmaceutical laboratory, CS Dermatologie
only markets its MELA'AURA range in pharmacies and specialized drugstores
in France. The Mela 'Aura range is starting to be available
outside France and contact details are shown below if you have any
questions about the range.
Why
is Mela 'Aura different?IR
The
Mela 'Aura range was developed by the highly innovative CS Dermatologie
laboratories. The cosmetic range was designed to address the need
for an even skin tone in a safe manner. The use of depigmenting
products often triggers dermatological problems such as mycoses,
burns, the appearance of body hair, etc. To tackle these factors,
the CS Dermatologie laboratories drew on their 15 years of experience
in dermatology to manufacture the products of the MELA'AURA
range, in accordance with the norms of the pharmaceutical
industry: safety, comfort
and skin tolerance included.
